It is widely known that green juices are elixirs of health and youth. They have a beneficial effect on our entire body, supporting cleansing, nourishing, and strengthening. One of the better side effects of green juices is our beautiful radiant appearance and smooth, healthy complexion. So far, I have reached for juices based on green-leaved vegetables such as spinach, kale, or other types of lettuce and herbs. It was different for me to drink such juices systematically.
Usually, I needed more ingredients for them. Now I think I found a juice that will stay with me for longer. I have been drinking celery juice every morning for over a month. I love it too many things, but one of the first things is that it’s very easy to make. To prepare it, you need a small number of products that can be obtained in almost any store.
The internet became famous for celery some time ago. I must admit that I was skeptical about all these “celery” challenges. So far, I have used celery in juices, but rather in small amounts and as an additive.
How did it happen that I finally reached for celery juice myself? The reason is quite prosaic. One morning I got up and wanted some juice, but in the fridge, all I found was celery and green cucumber. I remembered the celery juice and decided to try it.
Celery has a strong anti-inflammatory effect. It helps fight viruses, fungi, and bacteria accumulated in the intestines that are unfavorable to us. They produce toxic substances in our body and cause inflammation. By getting rid of them, we make our skin more radiant and elastic, strengthen and improve our digestive and immune systems, improve mental performance, and we will have more energy and vigor. Green celery juice also helps to get rid of that unpleasant feeling of heaviness in the abdomen or the notorious swelling or flatulence.
What changes have I noticed in myself?
Much nicer complexion. The redness has faded, no new spots or blackheads have appeared, the skin on my body is actually more elastic and taut. Of course, the appearance of my skin and complexion is also influenced by a few other things that I have recently introduced to my care, but I will write about it in another post. In fact, I felt more energy, thanks to which I was able to put my coffee down more gently, to which I had returned a few months earlier. My digestion has also improved and my cravings for sweets have decreased.
How do you like the taste of celery?
Personally, the taste of celery has never bothered me, but I know that for many it is hmm… not very pleasant to say the least. I must admit that the taste is specific and often it is a matter of habit, but additions such as a large amount of lemon or lime juice will certainly help us, which will improve the taste of each dish Sweet apple or pear will also be great. It is worth reaching for roots such as ginger or turmeric, but herbs such as parsley or fresh mint are also great.
How to squeeze the juice?
A slow juicer will work best. A horizontal juicer will be the best for green juices, i.e. those based on green-leaved vegetables, but also stringy ones such as celery. I use a Vestaware Juicer Extractor model. If you don’t have a juicer, you can use a blender. But then there is more trouble because we have to squeeze the blended pulp in a bag for plant milk or on gauze. There can also be a juicer, but both the juicer and the blender are not the optimal solution, because during operation they heat up to quite high temperatures, giving off heat to the squeezed juices. This causes a higher temperature to kill valuable vitamins. If you are thinking about drinking juice regularly, it is worth investing in a good juicer.
A recipe for how to make a celery juice
- 2-3 celery stalks
- 1/2 fresh cucumber
- 1 lemon
- 1 cm of ginger
- 1 cm turmeric root (optional)
- 1 small apple (optional)
- A pinch of chili or cayenne pepper.
Wash the ingredients well and dry them on a cloth. Peel the lemon from the skin. If your juicer has a small cartridge opening, you will need to cut the products into smaller pieces. The hole in my juicer is large, which speeds up my work. All I need to do is cut the apple into quarters and lemon in half. I do not peel the remaining ingredients or carve the apple nest. I start juicing hard ingredients. Thanks to this, those with more juice rinse out all leftovers beautifully.
It is best to drink the juice immediately after it has been squeezed. I drink my juice in the morning on an empty stomach so that all the nutrients are well absorbed. My stomach also reacts better to juices when it is not disturbed by previously eaten cooked food. However, this is not a necessity. Check it out when you drink freshly squeezed juices better and more comfortably.
Finally, you can add a pinch of ground chili or cayenne pepper, which will warm you up from the inside and speed up your metabolism.
I hope you like the recipe. I recommend that you challenge yourself with this juice and drink it for at least 7 days and watch for changes.
How is it with celery? Do you like it or do you stay away from it?
